Children's party favors
Party favors used to be something you would only associate with weddings, but now it seems children's parties are getting in on the act too. Yes, they can still come in a party bag, but the emphasise seems to be more on quality now, not quantity.
The idea is that guests have something to take away from the party that will still be around in a few weeks. When the child plays with the item it can create nostalgia about the recent party. This works even better if you can incorporate a craft at the party for the guests to participate in. The guests get great pleasure in creating their individual item and delight when they discover they can take it home to keep.
Pottery painting is a great example of this and also stuffing and personalising a soft toy. Wooden toys are always popular and generally last a long time too.
