When our lovely client contacted Party Mums to create a special winter themed Baby Shower for her, we couldn't wait to get planning. Her party brief included a beautiful backdrop, amazing dessert table and a stunning grazing table. Yes, yes and absolutely yes!
Our first priority always involves selecting the right theme, it had to be girly, classy and of course have that wintry feeling, without the chill. 'Baby it's cold outside' seemed the perfect fit and completely complimented the anticipated arrival date of this precious baby girl, due in the middle of wintry January.
When it came to selecting a colour palette, our client dreamed of baby pinks, soft greys and pearl white with a little shimmer. After trying various combinations of off the shelf colours, nothing was quite right, so a custom balloon colour palette was created and used throughout the party, which used over 800 balloons in total!
The showstopper of the party had to be the huge balloon wall backdrop. Over 10 feet wide and 6 feet high, this beautiful display caught the guests attention the moment they entered the room. Various sizes of balloons in the custom colour palette, were used to create this beautiful backdrop, which was filled with peonies, hyacinth and white eucalyptus. A bespoke ordered silver mirror banner with 'it's a girl' hung from one corner of the balloon wall and in front of the wall, sitting on soft faux fur rugs, were 4ft letters spelling the word 'BABY'. It created the perfect focal point of the room and also the best place for taking photos.
Flowing soft white curtains, surrounded with mini balloons, created an elegant backdrop positioned behind the the dessert table. With a vintage style white wooden table for the desserts, sat on faux fur rugs, with a mini grey wooden sledge with 'Baby it's cold outside' sign and snow covered pine cones, it was all totally dreamy. Desserts included a tall cake with cake topper and delicate handmade pink baby booties, that were just sooo cute. Handmade cookies in the shape of booties, babygrows and snowflakes, all with pattern details and personalisation, plus mini macaroons and chocolate dipped strawberries. A selection of cupcakes with personalised acrylic toppers and two huge vases of fresh flowers created softness and the aroma in the room was beautiful.
To keep the style and theme flowing, the grazing table had the same floaty backdrop as the dessert table, with an added custom silver mirror garland and a white full tulle table skirt. White grazing crates filled with a variety of savoury snacks including olives, cheese, crudites, fruit, meats and bread looked almost too good to eat. The fairy lights around the crates added a little sparkle and magic too.
To keep the little guests occupied, a traditional style white candy cart, with vintage glass jars full of candy treats, was available to satisfy those with a sweet tooth. Decorated with white heart shaped fairy lights, pink and white striped paper bags and a custom sign, it was super cute and a big hit with all the guests.
Activities for the Baby Shower were relaxed and informal. They included 'Wishes for baby' and 'Baby prediction' cards that were designed and created in the chosen colour palette and style. Both activities were fun and created beautiful keepsake cards that the Mummy to be could treasure forever.
A beautiful afternoon celebrating the mummy to be, surrounded by her friends and family. Lots of memories and photos to treasure and share from this special celebration.
